Whether you’re looking for a light summer meal under the scorching sun or trying to stay fit before the early fall film festival season gets underway, here are THR's top picks for a veg-central meal in Manhattan.

Daniel Boulud
At, Daniel, his eponymous spot on the Upper East Side, French chef Daniel Boulud offers a full vegetarian menu complete with several choices for every course. Boulud's effervescent personality shines through in his cooking and Daniel's spacious dining room and attentive though not obsequious wait staff make for a special evening whether for a long business lunch or a celebratory dinner. Start with a tasting of young carrots or a celery gazpacho, follow with a fennel royale with black mission figs or a cauliflower mousseline before ending on a sweet note. Howard Stern was a recent guest. Boulud has also just opened the new Mediterannean-themed Boulud Sud just across from Lincoln Center. The "Le Jardin" portion of the menu is entirely devoted to vegetable dishes including a Salade Tropezienne with artichokes, celery and fennel or a Ratatouille with soft egg. The restaurant just opened in May, but already boasts a celeb following including Bette Midler, Gene Wilder, Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Weisz, Steven Sondheim and Jeremy Irons. Sarma Melngailis pioneered New Yorkers into the raw food movement before it was trendy and now has a vast local, international and celeb following that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Clinton, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady. "We cater quite a bit to the entertainment biz, a lot of musicians and actors,” Melngailis says of the restaurant and One Lucky Duck take-out service that boasts several industry regulars, adding: "I think people who have to perform in their careers are particularly aware of how food, diet and lifestyle can affect energy levels." The sleek décor inside and scenic outdoor garden provide "an intimate setting for people who don’t want to dine under a spotlight," says Melngailis. Adour by Alain Ducasse at the St Regis New York
Vegetables have always starred in Alain Ducasse's cuisine and the celebrity French chef has brought his seasonal savoir-faire to NY with a special vegetarian tasting menu at the Adour restaurant at the St Regis. Based on his mantra of "60% ingredients and 40% technique" Ducasse uses fresh, local and seasonal fare for the 5-course culinary tour de vegetables that includes a chilled local sweet corn veloute, white vegetable carpaccio, Yukon gold potato gnocchi, the chef's famous "cookpot" filled with veggies from NY state finished off with a mango, coconut and passion fruit vacherin. Ducasse recently treated Prince Albert of Monaco and his royal and celebrity wedding guests to a veg-centric menu. If you weren’t invited to the festivities, this is the next best thing. Blue Hill NYC
If you can’t find the time to schedule a trip out to the farm, not to worry, Dan Barber is bringing farm to table dining to Manhattan at Blue Hill's Washington Place location. And if eating farm animals isn't your thing, not to fear, Barber has handpicked a wide array of garden gems to keep your meat-free palate busy. The fresh menu changes daily based on Mother Earth's whims and recent options include a grilled sugar baby watermelon with goat cheese, heirloom tomato salad or tomato and melon gazpacho to start followed by an emmer and quinoa primavera as a main with a choice of side superstars like marinated beets or cherry tomatoes, summer beans or roasted peanut potatoes. Book early at the always-packed location whose intimate setting provides a welcome refuge for celebs including President and Michelle Obama who chose Blue Hill for a date night. Eleven Madison Park
You don’t have to be a celebrity anymore to design your dream dinner. At Eleven Madison Park (pictured below), exec chef Daniel Humm lets diners choose their favorite ingredients and signal their least favorites, then creates dishes designed exclusively for them. Humm is happy to oblige even the most picky of palates and makes sure that perfect produce makes its way to every plate.  "Vegetables showcase seasons in a way that no other food can. For me, cooking with vegetables has always been about highlighting every aspect of their flavor and texture and about being very creative," Humm says. The chef enjoys cooking several versions of the same vegetable – he'll roast, crisp, puree and fry that eggplant you requested – and his carrot-based dish (yes, carrots indeed) was a menu sensation for months.  "For me as a chef, I'm used to working with many luxury ingredients, but I've realized that there is also a luxury that comes with finding the right carrot, or the right celery, or the right peas," Humm explains, adding: "And building dishes around those ingredients can be incredibly beautiful and rewarding." The Eat Sheet: Pop-Up Chef Sensation Ludo Lefebvre's Best Eats in America

The chef and his business partner/wife Krissy criss-crossed the country for their Sundance Channel show "Ludo Bites America" — here are four of their best finds

Ludo Lefebvre, nationally known for his always sold-out pop-up restaurant concept Ludo Bites, co-stars with business partner/wife Krissy in the Sundance Channel show, Ludo Bites America. Every episode, the show, which has its finale this Sunday, August 28 at 9 pm, finds the couple touring the country and setting up shop at a local eatery in a different city. In between shooting, Ludo, a classically-trained 5-star chef who Time magazine has called "Chef of The Future", and Krissy got out to sample some of the best cuisine that the likes of Omaha, Mobile and Santa Fe have to offer.

Here are four of their must-visit places for regional food in the U.S.

Steaks in Omaha

Ludo: "We had amazing steak at Spencer's Steakhouse. You walk in to the restaurant and the service is immediately attentive.  Our server was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about locally sourced beef, the menu and the wine. Some might call it information overload, but we loved and it was definitely not just for our table, we listened to his passion when he was at the table next to us. We ate ourselves full. Started the meal with lobster bisque, oysters on the half shell, crab cakes and Caesar salad. Krissy had the 20oz bone-in ribeye and I went with the Omaha Wagyu special for the night. We also had spicy sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. We finished off with a cheesecake and some ice cream. Classic steakhouse through and through, but isn't that what you want when you go for steak in Omaha?" 102 South 10th Street, Omaha

New Mexican Cuisine in Santa Fe

Krissy: "We snuck out to grab a little Santa Fe lunch during filming. We landed at what has to be the quintessential Santa Fe spot, Cafe Pasqual's. From the minute you walk in the door, you can tell this is true New Mexico cuisine. The restaurant is so bright and colorful with flags and chile bunches hanging from the ceiling and Mexican folk art covering the walls. There is always a line out the door and we waited about 20 minutes for our table, but this gave us a great opportunity to go shopping at Sun Country Traders and pick up some New Mexico art. Now to the food. We had to have the much talked about 'hash' and it did not disappoint, the potatoes and corned beef were both so moist. We added to that Chile Relleno con Huevos Y Frijoles Negros Y Salsa and Carne Asada.  Combine that with the chips and salsa we just could not quit eating (the salsa in New Mexico is truly the best) and the glass of rose wine and we definitely dragging when we went back to work, but so worth every minute and every morsel. It is so juicy, smoky and tender. Keith Allen uses mostly pork shoulder and removes the skin before hand chopping the meat. You get a nice variety of pieces in the chop, mostly small tasty morsels, but you will always find a few larger pieces in the chop. Get the hushpuppies too. Also everyday Keith makes a few desserts from scratch, we had the apple crumble, so delicious. Angel Food Awards Honor 'Glee' Producer

Project Angel Food One - P 2011The event, held by organization Project Angel Food, honored author Lisa Lillien and 'Glee’s' Dante Di Loreto for their commitment to the food delivery program for the homeless.

Project Angel Food, the food delivery program for the ill and homebound, honored Hungry Girl author Lisa Lillien and Glee producer Dante Di Loreto for their commitment to the organization on Aug. 20. The two-decade-old charity enlists volunteers and staff to cook meals for people with life-threatening illnesses, which are delivered to more than 13,000 people in Los Angeles.

The awards — held at Project Angel Food headquarters in Hollywood — featured performances from finalists on hit Oxygen show, The Glee Project, and a home grown dinner for 400 active volunteers and L.A. tastemakers. Previous recipients include Sharon StoneElizabeth Taylor and Jessica Lange (who was a presenter at this year’s show).

While Maura Tierney kicked evening off with a 20k phone donation towards the purchase of a van for the organization, the celebration continued as The Office's Leslie David Barker enjoyed the silent auction, and Nickelodeon's latest stars Ariana Grande and Jeanette McCurdy drank virgin "glee-tini's. The organization's CEO, Margaret Steele, summed up the event as "filled with love."

With ink not even dry on a contract with Lifetime for her new show, The Client List, Jennifer Love Hewitt was thrilled to talk about her new gig--she plays a housewife who turns to prostitution in order to keep her home out of foreclosure. "I’m so excited to be at a place [that's] ready to do unapologetic television. This will be a show that will allow them to be that, especially with the subject matter. And, I think we’ll get some guys to come over and watch because there will be lingerie in every episode, it should be good."

Honoree Di Loreto talked up his next project, the FX TV series American Horror Story, starring Lange, but wouldn’t divulge details. "You may have to watch it with a pause button because you may have to stop and catch your breath," he said. "We get to do some nasty things on cable! We get to show people’s butts and people can talk the way they really talk.”

Industry board members of the organization include Darren Star,  Dreamworks’ Chip Sullivan, entertainment business manager John McIlwee, Center Theater Group managing editor Edward Rada, and NCIS’ Pauley Perrette.

Paul McCartney Finally Works With Decca to Release Ballet

Paul McCartneyNearly 50 years after famously rejecting the Beatles, “Ocean’s Kingdom” will debut Sept. 22 in New York City.

Nearly 50 years after Decca famously rejected the Beatles and reportedly said that the group had "no future in showbusiness," the label is working with Paul McCartney to release his upcoming ballet, Ocean's Kingdom, Reuters reports.

The show will debut on Sept. 22 at the New York City Ballet and will have four additional performances in September and five in January. The recording will be released in Britain by Decca on Oct. 3.

McCartney's four-movement Ocean's Kingdom is conducted by John Wilson and perfomed by the London Classical Orchestra. The hour and a half performance tells the tale of an underwater love story, where the deep-sea world is threatened by humans.

McCartney said in a statement that he was "trying to write something that expressed an emotion -- so you have fear, love, anger, sadness to play with, and I found that exciting and challenging."

Only four L.A.-area stores made the list. The trendy Maxfield in West Hollywood (8825 Melrose Avenue) is ranked No. 5. Average spent per shopping trip: 2,258. Celebrities who have been spotted there recently include Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, Adam Lambert and David and Victoria Beckham.

Also on the list: Santa Monica’s Savannah (706 Montana Avenue) at No. 9, $1,970 an average visit, and, in Beverly Hills, 16th-ranked Dolce & Gabbana (312 N. Rodeo Dr.,), $1,595, and 23rd-ranked Escada (9502 Wilshire Boulevard), $1,466.

According to the website, it compiled the list based on proprietary data provided by Citi, looking at millions of transactions between April 2010 and May 2011.

Dick Ebersol Lists $13 Mil Telluride Home (Exclusive)

Dick Ebersol Telluride - H 2011The former NBC Sports chief and wife Susan St. James purchased the ski resort getaway for $10.4 mil in 2004.

THR has learned that Dick Ebersol, who resigned from NBC in May, and his wife, Susan St. James, have put their Telluride house on the market for $13 million.

Located the tony enclave of Mountain Village, the 7-bedroom, log-and-stone house sits among pines and aspens on 1.7 acres with mountain-peak views. According to the listing, doors, flooring and cabinets are constructed of rustic reclaimed wood and "chandeliers and fireplaces handcrafted by some of the West's finest artisans."

According to San Miguel County assessor records, the Ebersols purchased the 12,962-square-foot residence in 2004 for $10.4 million.

Built in 2001, the house also includes 7 full baths and a home theater.

The sale comes more than six years after they suffered the death of their 14-year-old son, Teddy. The teen, along with his older brother and father, were among the passengers in a private plane that crashed at the Montrose Regional Airport in southwest Colorado in 2004.

In July, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld also listed their Telluride residence, an 11-bedroom, multi-building compound on 26-acres for $18.25 million.

The house's listing agent, TD Smith, would not comment on the identity of the owners.
