Jack Nicholson’s Hollywood Hills Home Damaged in Fire

The blaze broke out just before 8 p.m. on Friday night and injured two firefighters.

Jack Nicholson’s Hollywood Hills home caught fire on Friday night, with two responding firefighters injured, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The fire broke out in a two-story house on Woodrow Wilson Dr. before 8 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department’s Matt Spence said. About 85 firefighters responded to the fire, though it is unknown how badly injured the two firefighters are.

The actor was listed as the owner of the house, but Nicholson did not actually live there, KTLA reported. According to the local Southern California station, he currently is renting the home out to two other actors.

The fire was sustained after about 90 minutes at the home, Spence said, and the firefighters had trouble making sure it did not spread to the surrounding brush around the residence. “It was tricky, just because of where it was, on a hillside, dark, windy roads, a lot of brush,” Spence said.

Nicholson, who won Oscars for As Good as It Gets, Terms of Endearment and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, last starred in 2010’s How Do You Know.
