Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress Goes on Display in London Saturday

Kate MiddletonThe Duchess of Cambridge's Alex McQueen gown will be a part of Buckingham Palace tours.

Kate Middleton's Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown goes on display in Buckingham Palace beginning this Saturday.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore the ivory and white satin gown to say "I Do" to Prince William on April 29. It will be lit up on a special platform in the ballroom, topped with the Cartier "Halo" tiara she borrowed from the Queen.

Beginning Saturday, 643,000 tickets will become available to view the dress. The Palace is expecting them to sell out, People.com reports. The tour costs $28.50, and runs through Oct. 3.

Their wedding cake, Kate's three-inch, size 8 Alexander McQueen shoes and a replica of her bridal bouquet will also be included on the tour, as will a video by Burton explaining the dress design process.

Middleton and the Queen will tour the exhibit Friday.

"Visitors will see what a great example of British couture it is," exhibition curator Caroline de Guitaut says. "And how much detail and how much work went into the creation of this dress. The beauty really is in the detail."
