'Glee' Star Heather Morris' Photoshoot Stirring Controversy (Video)

Glee's Heather Morris recently posed for a series of photos for photographer Tyler Shields that is drawing controversy.

In the pictures, Morris is depicted with a black eye, leading some commenters on his website to accuse him of glamorizing domestic abuse. One photo also shows Morris placing an iron over a man's crotch.

"Even Barbie bruises," Shields wrote on his site. "We have been talking about shooting for a long time and we finally made it happen! Some magic, irons, and bruises later it was complete."

While many commenters on his site praised the photos, several weren't as enthusiastic. And it's not the first time Shields has raised eyebrows: His photoshoot with Lindsay Lohan depicted her holding a gun to her head.

"I do.not.get.it," wrote "befuddled." Why do you keep producing photos glamorizing violence against women? There is absolutely nothing new or revelatory about pics like this."

Added M.J.: "So wait ... we’re glamorizing bruises/abuse now?"

Still, Shields had his defenders. A commenter named Matthew weighed in: "Who cares if this looks like glamorization of domestic violence? It’s a photoshoot, not actual domestic violence. ... If this offends anyone, the offended person is just being ridiculous and quite frankly, stupid. Political correctness and creativity need to stay separated."

In his own defense, Shields told Us Weekly that Morris is not intended to be seen as a victim in the photos.

"Our shoot poses a lot of questions, but just like in real life, Heather is definitely not a victim," he said. "More like a really liberated woman."
