Nancy Shevell, Kayne West, Hailee Steinfeld are Paris Spring Fashion Front Row Faces

Hailee Steinfeld Miu Miu Paris P 2011Hailee Steinfeld attends Miu Miu's Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2012 Show

Celebrities at fashion shows are (yawn) nothing new. Designers have been paying beaucoup bucks for celebs to sit pretty in the front rows of their runway presentations for decades. But it's always interesting to see who comes to support whom, be it their family, friends and/or business associates.

PHOTOS: The Famous Faces at the Paris Spring 2012 Fashion Shows

For instance, Nancy Shevell and Paul McCartney hit his daughter Stella McCartney’s Paris Spring 2012 show last week. McCartney's show opened with several classic white dresses, clearly a portent of the wedding frock she designed that was worn by Shevell to her wedding on Oct 9. McCartney’s daughter also did the bridesmaids dresses and was in charge of the vegan food served at their wedding reception too.

And we would love to have been a fly on a front row chair to hear what Nicole Richie (who has a clothing line now) and her former stylist Rachel Zoe (who also has her own clothing line) had to say to each other.at the Louis Vuitton show (rumored to be Marc Jacob's dry run for the Dior head designer post). They've probably mended fences or at least try to look like they have.

Other celeb/designer alliances: Oscar-nominated True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld hit the Miu Miu Paris show because she's now the well-paid contracted face of the line and appears in their ads. Liv Tyler turned up at Givenchy's  show wearing a blouse with a praying mantis (or some kind of bizarre insect) print over an asymmetrical skirt. Why? Liv is the face of Givenchy’s fragrance Very Irresistible. And that hefty Givenchy paycheck must also be irresistible. Kanye West, whose clothing line Dw Paris debut got less than stellar reviews, came to Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy show because Tisci did the artwork for Jay-Z and Kanye's Watch the Line album. Oh, and Kanye also got to hang out with models Naomi Campbell and Chanel Iman.

Click on the Famous Folks at Fashion Shows gallery to see more celebs including Twiggy, Olivia Wilde, Kylie Minoque, Abbie Cornish, Uma Thurman, Clemence Poesy, a very shy (not) Jared Leto, and Salma Hayek, whose wedding vows to French fashion tycoon Francois Pinault must have included a promise to love, honor and wear his designers’ clothing.

Lady Gaga Debuts Fashion Film (Video)

The clip for “You and I” was shot by Dutch fashion photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

There are no outlandish costumes, 10-inch heels or appearances by Lady Gaga’s alter ego Jo Calderone in the “fashion film” clip that the music idol released on Friday.

A dressed-down Gaga is featured in the first of five fashion films for the song “You and I,” shot by Dutch fashion photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The two-minute video, titled “Haus of Ü Featuring Nymph,” shows Gaga performing ballet-esque moves, and throwing her hair around in slow motion. It's one of the most natural looking versions of Gaga that fans have ever seen.

The video comes on the heels of Gaga’s criticisms of New York Times' Cathy Horyn  and fashion critics in general for being negative dinosaurs of the fashion industry. “It’s so easy to say something is bad,” she wrote in her column in V Magazine. “In the age of the Internet, when collections and performances are so accessible to the public and anyone can post a review on Facebook or Twitter, shouldn’t columnists and reviewers, such as Cathy Horyn, employ a more modern and forward approach to criticism, one that separates them from the average individual at home on their laptop?”

Gaga, a fashion icon to many, first announced that she had show five additional “fashion films” for the song “You and I” in addition to its music video on Twitter Thursday.

Tilda Swinton Reveals Her Fashion Inspirations

Tilda SwintonThe Oscar-winning actress tells W Magazine her style icons are David Bowie and her own father.

Perhaps it's no surprise that Tilda Swinton, known as one of the most avant-garde style icons in the business, has been inspired by the fashion of David Bowie for years.

But as the androgynous beauty — star of the upcoming film, We Need to Talk About Kevin — tells W Magazine in its August issue, her father's wardrobe has had a big impact on her as well.

STORY: Tilda Swinton's 'We Need to Talk About Kevin': Cannes Review

"From childhood, I remember more about [my father’s] black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother's evening dresses," she said of her 86-year-old dad, Major-General Sir John Swinton, who is a former commander of the Queen's Household Division in London.

"I would rather be handsome, as he is, for an hour than pretty for a week," added the actress, whose photo spread in the magazine portrays her as an albino alien come to earth.

Sarah Jessica Parker Parts Ways With Harvey Weinstein's Fashion Label

Sarah Jessica ParkerThe actress is leaving her post as chief creative officer of Halston's sister line, Halston Heritage.

Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly out as president and chief creative officer of Halston Heritage, the Halston sister label she started with a year and a half ago, according to U.K. newspaper The Telegraph.

She's not the first actress to be involved with a fashion company – Lindsay Lohan had a stint at Ungaro which didn’t last long, after bad reviews of her runway show. But in Sarah Jessica Parker's case, she did add much to the junior line, particularly Sex and the City fashion caché — and of course, appearing in it at many public appearances.

THR hears she and Halston owner Harvey Weinstein (since 2007) didn't see exactly eye to eye on creative decisions. Parker refers to her split with Halston Heritage in her cover story of the August issue of American Vogue, which is out next week.

So far, neither Weinstein nor Parker is saying exactly why. Meanwhile, let’s not shed a tear for SJP: Forbes reports she made 30 million dollars last year, mostly on Sex and the City re-runs.

THR reported earlier Wednesday that Sarah Jessica Parker will announce in the August issue of Vogue that she is stepping down from her role as chief creative officer of the Halston Heritage brand, the lower-priced offshoot of the high-end Halston brand.

Since Weinstein owns Halston -- named for Roy Frowick Halston, the great American designer of the 1970s -- there have been rumblings in fashion circles that perhaps Parker and Weinstein had had a parting of the ways professionally.

Turns out, this couldn’t be further from the truth. A source close to Halston tells THR that the film mogul will make an announcement shortly that he is letting go of his association with the company, which he purchased four years ago.

This is probably the reason Parker left her design post. It’s expected that Weinstein -- who's also a producer on Llifetime's Project Runway and is married to fashion designer Georgina Chapman of Marchesa -- will make an announcement to this effect Thursday.

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker Reap the Benefits of Being Fashion Savvy

Sarah Jessica Parker

Fashion is playing an increasingly big part in the money that actresses earn...

Forbes magazine's latest ranking of actresses' incomes ties Angelina Jolie with Sarah Jessica Parker, saying each made somewhere around $30 million last year -- both earning some of their large income from their fashion deals.

PHOTOS: Hollywood's 10 Highest-Paid Actresses

Jolie made money on two films, Salt and The Tourist, but also on her Louis Vuitton print ad campaign. Parker earned coin from Sex and the City reruns, but also from her role as Chief Creative Office of Halston Heritage.

Interestingly, they are probably the top two actresses that designers compete to dress -- and who appear the most iconic in terms of affecting fashion trends -- SJP in her flamboyant way, and Jolie in her more subtle one.

Nicole Richie and John Varvatos have joined NBC's reality competition series Fashion Star.

The two will serve as celebrity mentors on the upcoming show, hosted by Elle Macpherson and previously announced mentor Jessica Simpson.
