Michael Bolton, Dave Mason Set Second Annual Celebrity Golf Classic to Benefit Charity

Michael Bolton Headshot - P 2011The Sept. 10 event will benefit the Michael Bolton Charities for children and women at risk as well as three other organizations.

Singer-songwriter Michael Bolton and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason are set to host their second annual Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit the Michael Bolton Charities for children and women at risk on Sept. 10 at the Ojai (Calif.) Valley Inn and Spa.

The daylong event includes a golf tournament along with an awards reception, silent auction and dinner, including an awards presentation, live auction and performances by Bolton and Mason.

In addition, Orianthi (Michael Jackson's This Is It), singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem and singer-songwriter Gary Wright ("Dream Weaver") will make special appearances at the dinner, which will be emceed by John O'Hurley.

The Michael Bolton Charities Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Del R. Bryant, president and CEO of BMI Inc.  

The Michael Bolton Charities, founded in 1993, is based in Bolton's home state of Connecticut. It has handed out a total of $6 million in grants to various organizations that support children and women at risk of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence.

A portion of the proceeds from the Sept. 10 event also will go to ?Santa Barbara Community Food Bank, Yoga Blue and Work Vessels for Vets. For more information, visit michaelboltoncharities.com or call (203) 483-6463.

Bolton recently released his 21st studio album, titled Gems -- The Duets Collection, which includes collaborations with Rascal Flatts, Seal, Goodrem, late vocalist Eva Cassidy and composer-producer A.R. Rahman.

Mason is primarily known for his work with Traffic but also worked with Jimi Hendrix, Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Eric Claption, George Harrison and Fleetwood Mac, among others.
